Membership and Dues Information

WHO CAN JOIN?

The current membership consists of prominent antitrust law firms and lawyers. Membership is open to any individual or organization who meets the dues requirement, subscribes to the by-laws, and is interested in furthering the goals of antitrust.

HOW MUCH ARE THE DUES?

The dues for firms with one to three attorneys, $2,500; for firms with four to ten attorneys, $5,000; and for firms with eleven or more attorneys, $7,500.

WHO SETS THE POLICIES FOR COSAL?

COSAL is governed by a Board of Directors, which consists of all the regular members. There is an Executive Committee that helps to recruit new members and works with COSAL staff on policy issues.

WHAT IS COSAL’S TAX STATUS?

COSAL operates on a tax exempt basis as a 501(c)(6) organization. Dues are not deductible as charitable contributions, but antitrust attorneys who join may be able to deduct a portion of their dues as a business expense under section 162. Lobbying activities are not deductible.
